Q. What sort of items are advertised on freebee?
A. Anything you feel may be useful to someone else may be advertised on freebee providing it is legal and is yours to donate.
Advertisements will be vetted before being placed onto the freebee site to ensure compliance with necessary regulations
Q. Can I, the donor, be held responsible for a malfunction if an item I donate causes accidental damage?
A. No, on registration each browser must accept the terms and conditions for using freebee, which clearly state that neither the donor nor freebee accept such responsibility.
Q. How can I donate items without affecting my security?
A. It is worth following these few simple rules to protect your security:
- As the donor you decide what time a browser will visit you to collect items. It is sensible to arrange this when there is more than one person present.
- Take the telephone number of a caller and agree to phone them later to confirm collection arrangements. This is a useful way of confirming their identity.
- It would not be wise to allow children and the elderly to deal with callers.
- Obviously do not leave callers alone in your home
Q. Why is using freebee so environmentally friendly?
A. Throwing away an unwanted item, which could be recycled, will save the resources and energy, to make a new item.
If you sell something rather than giving it away the proceeds will probably be spent on new possessions, which will have consumed yet more energy and resources in the manufacturing process.
Q. How far would freebee like to go?
A. Global! If we in the developed world can start to recycle more we can move towards recycling on a larger scale to the underdeveloped world with minimum impact on our environment.
Q. Do I have to submit a photograph as well as a description of items donated?
A. No. freebee tries to make it as easy as possible for donors. You may submit a verbal description alone or with a photograph, the choice is yours.
Q. Although I am happy to give an unwanted item to a good home how do I stop the phone ringing once it has been collected?
A. This is why you register as a donor, enabling you to remove your advertisement just as easily as you placed it, once your item has been collected.
Q. If I put an advert on freebee will it be on public display immediately?
A. No, we at freebee value the service we are offering people and our environment, and in order to keep this spirit we vet all advertisements prior to releasing them to the public domain to remove any unwanted submissions. This takes time, so please be patient with us.
Q. What if I have problems submitting an advert, accessing the contact details or finding my way around freebee?
A. Send your enquiry to support@freebee.co.uk and we will help you as soon as possible.
